i'm feeling terrible after reading the text, because of some educated persons comments. how could they support it ? Government is loosing a huge amount of money for healthcare, and sodas are the worst stuff for our health. it just increase our weight, it doesn't have any usefulness. i personally it should be taxed, but not restricted. when government put more taxes on sodas, people will incrementally stop it. because they not going to able to afford it. so, at one stage they will stop it completely. in a research, scientists have discovered almost 23% of people have stopped smoking, after increase of taxes in cigarets. so, that will exactly happen with sodas. i think, there should be no restriction for adults to drink sodas. because they know what is good & what is for their health.
ReplyDeleteI disagree with you, because some people feel good when they drink soda. So I think, soda can be good for emotional. But I agree with what you said about the right of adult. I think it shouldn't be limited.

DeleteI don't think soda is bad for us. What I mean isn't bad as physically. It can be bad at health and it is increase our weight but we drinks it even we know that. I think soda should not be taxed.If people really want to drinks it, then taxed it will not be a problem. Also, I think restricted for children is bad idea. Parents can make their children to stop drink it but restricted from government is violates our children's freedom to drink and right to drink something what they want. Adults are same as children. Adults can make judgments about right or wrong, and they have the right to choose what they think it is right. Adults should be responsible for their own choices so restricted by government is not good for adults.

DeleteThe issues were being discussed in the text,that the soft drinks are causes of obesity, is most important things in our society, that every family suffered from it. because some families can't controle their childreen health outside house, therefore, the goverment should be responsible. I think, that the way to treat this probleme, is not to increase soda taxes, but to steak lable restriction for childreen on all soft drinks which we know, that can caused obesity or have to much calories. for adult, as my opinion, they don't need the government be responsible of them, because they are adult enough.

DeleteThis is a good point. No matter how hard parents try, children must spend part of the time away from their mom and dad, so if other restrictions aren't in place, children may not follow their parents' rules when they don't have to. Some people place extra responsibility on the schools for this reason, while others think the government should do something about the situation.

ReplyDeleteI Think that everything dangerous for our life should be taxed even if the government has the power to restricted it,that also will be a great idea to keep its population healty,because they can't see that them selves so that will be the government's responsability. Soda is one of those flail for our health now.I think that soda is nor good for adults nor for children health,because we all have same organism and its function in the same way. So,if there is any taxing or restricted problem toward soda,it should be for both adults and children. After the government taxed soda,and people get tired of buying it at a huge price, they will finally abandon it and start eating healthy foods which is good for their heath.

DeleteAminata, these are all good points. People may not like the idea of the government limiting things for them, but it is in the best interest of the people, and might, in the end, lead to the population living healthier lives.

And people wont stop drink soda because of tax added even they know soda is bad for their health, Adult should tell to the children how bad is soda for their health and let children know how many they should drink is not going to hurt their health

DeleteBased on the chapter, soda is a sweet tasting beverage that is harmful from adult to children. honestly it tastes good this is why children are pretty much addicted to it and adults too. they drink it undoubtedly without realizing its effects. i think soda shouldn't directly be restricted cause people will get angry since they love drinking soda so much, so higher taxation on it would be better. they will stop drinking soda because they have to pay a high amount of tax just to buy it. but it should be restricted for children because drinking soda lead them lots of disease such as obesity and sometimes it effects on their behaviors.

DeleteI agree with you that soda should be restricted for children. Where I grew up, sodas were taken out of the schools for young kids, and I think was a step in the right direction. However, you're also right that people will be mad if soda is taken away from them, so perhaps a tax on soda, rather than a restriction, is better for adults.
DeleteSoda is one of the easier drink in the world. Drinking soda for some people is doing the most fun thing and amusing in the planet while soda make them weak everyday. Children are the future they need to stop drinking soda and start learning how to make natural juice. Product that came in the from the soil is the best product for everybody not even children but also for adult because they gives us strength to fight agains sickness, but who's going to buy a material to make juice while they can get a soda for a dollar. I will appreciate if the government can augment the taxes of every kind of soda that exist in the world. That doesn't mean i don't drink soda but soda cause to much bad things in this society like obesity, cancer etc... for example buy a soda in drop it to a pork meat look what going to happen to the meat at the same time imagine yourself drinking a soda guess what's going to happen. the best thing to taxes soda has much that people not going to buy it, for the protection of the society.

DeleteI think that people should be clear about the side of effect of sodaa inthe human being. Soda contains a very high sugar level, and cause harmful health conditions like diabetes,obesity among others .Also, the soda causes addiction. I think it should be taxed because people will consume less soda to avoid paying high price for taxes. Althogh,I don`t think that is soda good idea to prohibit to children. The responsability is of the parents to monitor the intake of soda

Deletealthough I think sodas are not good for children and other folks , it should not be banned .Parents should do their job by educating their kids about what is good for them .It's a free world , some people may want to have it. Therefore , parents are responsible for their children's health.
