DeleteBulling is a weird thing from children toward their peers.I think that there is many reason why children bully their peers.first, when you came in this country while you don't know how to speak english, they will always bully you, because they know that your are a stranger and don't know how to speak english and also know that you can't defend your self.Second, other are victim of bully because of their over weight. Finally, when some students see that you are smarter then them, they will always give you a hard time by bulling you.I think that the school authority must do something so the bulling can stop in school.otherwise it can cause that students who are victim of bulling hate school and stop attending....
ReplyDeleteyes, it is weird.
Deletestudents are being bullied for some stupid reasons,.,.
What should they do? Why do you think they aren't doing these things already?
Delete(1)Bully has become a major problem in todays world. Specially immigrants are being bullied all over, even though, according to the wall street journal, ''64% PHD holders are immigrant''. but still some people dont really have no respect for them only because their english accent is not as perfect as americans. some students are being bullied for their health, bad habits, quietness and other sort of things (2) students are being bullied in school buses very badly most of the time. to stop worst case scenario, the school authority should install security camera inside of the bus. it will definitely help to stop bullies in the bus.(3) probably the authority havent thought about it. they have no idea how bad it is or how worse it could be.
ReplyDeleteYou are right, their is a lot of international student's bully problem. I think school should find out the way to solve that problem.
DeleteGood point, Araf, I think security cameras would really help! However, I think most schools would not be able to afford them, which may be one reason why they are not already in place.
Delete1. First, when children are young like elementary school student, they want to be strong, leader, smart, and better then everyone.
ReplyDeleteThat's what children usually want to be in front of their friends. Also, this is why children bully their peers. Children want to be stronger then other, they want to prove how they are, how strong they are, to their peers. Bully is the way to prove their power to peers.
2.Well, I think school should find out how which student have a problem with others, before school do to cut back on bullying on school buses. Also, School should focus on every place not just school bus. By the way, just for school bus, I think school can do some kind of interview and research from every student who taking school bus for find out the problem between peers.
3. In my opinion, that's because they don't know exactly what is going on between peers. I think still a lot of people don't know how much it is serious. Also, how much it is stressful to students.
i agree with for all the points, specially that schools have to make search of problems between peers if they want to resolve problem of bulling, and make an interview about causes that letthe children became bullys.
DeleteIt's true, Natalie, that sometimes schools are just not aware of the problem until it gets to big that it can't be ignored.
DeleteChildren are bullied their peers, maybe they jealous from their peers and they feel like they have more power then them. They want to control others. I think school should discuss this problem with students and their parents that whats their problem? and they should also put another person to look over students like a conductor or guard beacuse only driver cannot control the students, its even more dangerous for kids. the driver can only foucs on driving. Nowadays they do teach students about bulling and there effect, but they still need to control the school buses also.
ReplyDeleteyou are right sometimes it leads discrimination and hate crimes as usual so based on your opinion there should be 1 more adult on the bus to look after the students
Deletethis is a good point.some students bully their peers because they are jealous that the person is smarter than them and they will try to give him the hard time in school just to interromp him .i thing that the school authority must take a responsibility against those students who are bulling in school.
DeleteI think making parents and students aware of the problem is an excellent solution, Alishfa. By doing this, perhaps the behaviour will be less likely to go unnoticed or less likely to happen at all.
Delete1. they bully their peers because they want to show them up that they are strong and smart. they could beat any peer they want and when they hate anymore they start bullying on him. 2. school can put a teacher or an adult person on the bus as if students cant bully each other or they can provide separate transportation for older and younger students. 3. they are not taking no action yet because they think bus driver could handle them by himself and probably they do not want to spend more money for an adult on the bus who can take care of children from being bullied.
ReplyDeleteYou're right that schools do not want to spend more money on having more people on the bus than the driver and the students, but I think it could be a good idea. One of the big problems with bullying on the bus is that the driver can't jsut stop in the middle of traffic to discipline students, and he or she must be paying attention to the road instead of what's going on in the back, so it is easy for kids to get away with a lot of stuff.
DeleteBullying is a problem that affects millions of students, and it has everyone worried, not just the kids on its receiving end. Yet because parents, teachers, and other adults don't always see it, they may not understand how extreme bullying can get
ReplyDeleteTwo of the main reasons people are bullied are because of appearance and social status. Bullies pick on the people they think don't fit in, maybe because of how they look, how they act (for example, kids who are shy and withdrawn), their race or religion, or because the bullies think their target may be gay or lesbian.
Since this post was entirely copied from the internet and not your own ideas, I'm afraid I can't give it credit. What do YOU think about the questions I asked?
DeleteWhat can make a child get bully by their peers? Your peers is one of the most traitor; why saying that? Your peers want you to be like them, act like them and plus thinking like them. Children that get bully by their peers is because they don't act like their peers want them to act. One of the other way they can get bully its if they have an accent, skinny, obese, or for their color. The only way School can stop bullying in back of busses is to make sure they have an extra person on the bus to look over those Childs while the bus driver is focus doing something else. Make an appointment to those Childs explain them life about what is good or bad and what can happen in the future. Such as Today Jose maybe ugly and in the future he will have money to occupy a city. In my opinion I guess it's because they wasn't affected or receive any complain about it, or they don't have no idea about what's going on in this kind of situation.
ReplyDeleteYou're right, sometimes the schools just aren't aware of the situation.
Delete1) I think Children bully their peers to get attention, or to show others they are tougher. Maybe they had a rough childhood, or they don't even have friends, so they think that the only way to get recognized by their peers.2)There are few things schools can do to cut bullying. As in the reading they can put cameras on the buses, inside the school, and around the playground. They also can make someone watch the kids while in the bus other than the driver, and in the playgrounds as well. they can also make harder punishments for those who bully, and make programs teaching kids the harms of bullying.3) Schools aren't doing these things for the same old reason they had been giving for decades: Schools don't have enough money to do that.
ReplyDeleteI agree with your first idea, some students might not have fullfill family, so they bully others. They did not have a warm family and feel jealous of others, so they try to bully others just for fun.
DeleteI totally agree with you Youcef, its very common on bullies to have a rough life at home so they take it off on others. Schools should do something about it and stop making up excuses as to why they can't.
DeleteI think tough punishments is a good solution. Many kids break the rules because they know there aren't real consequences to their actions, but perhaps if the punishment was more serious, more kids would take bullying seriously.
Deletethe children bully their peers for many reason. First, can be that the parents treat them severely and as consequence, the children will looking for place where they can feel that have power.Second, that the children want to attract attention of their friends that they can be leader. School have responsibility to cut back on bulling on school buses by many manner. at my oppinion the schools aren't doing that already, because they are still searching for the good manner to resolve this problem, at the end, they were trying to put camera on some buses but that not can be a extreme solution.
ReplyDeleteIt's true, sometimes kids bully because of deeper problems, such as being mistreated at home.
Delete1. I've heard that even though bullies seem to be the toughest, they are actually the ones with the lowest self-esteem. Most of them get harmed by their parents at home so they take it off on someone else.
ReplyDelete2. Schools can incorporate more security staff to handle most of these situations. They can also incorporate a few cameras to keep an extra eye on bullies because nowadays bullies don't respect no one. I've seen how kids bully their teachers. There was a video of some kids who made their supervisor cry due to some hard comments about her look. This was ridiculously upsetting.
3. I think that most of the schools are way too lazy. Therefore they create cheap excuses as to why they don't do something about things like this.
I totally agree, nowadays bullies don't tend to harm their peers only, but the teachers as well. And school's excuses are pathetic; schools should be a safe place where kids can learn, but with bullies around it makes it worse, because it will make them doubt their confidence and the way they are suppose to live.
DeleteYou are right, Stephanie, that unfortunately, some schools want to take the easy and cheap way out, which can often put their students in danger or bullying or worse.
Delete1. Children bully their peers because they like to make fun on peers, and they can also be a head of students to proud of themselves. They also feel powerful when they bully peers.
ReplyDelete2. The bus is having its own power structure. If someone bully others in the bus, it will report to school social worker and social worker will talk to students who bully others.
3. Maybe they didnot get any complains from others, and they focus on more important thing.
You're right, kids often enjoy the feeling of power they get when they bully their peers.
DeleteThis is one of the many problems that are affecting the schools. I think the school should seek alternative of trying to improve this situation. The children not only in the buses are also bullied in school for different reasons, some for not knowing the language, including obesity amoung other. For example I heard in my cousin`s house my nephews said that childrens in schools scoff when children have ugly shoes or non brand. I do not think this is good because there begin complexed and require their parents. Also they can lose the desire to go to school
ReplyDeleteSo what should schools do to stop it? Why aren't they doing these things already?
Delete1. Why do you think children bully their peers?
ReplyDeleteI think some children don't know bullying isn't right, they just learn from TV and think bullying it is funny. School need to make students understand how harmful bullying is.
2. What do you think schools could do to cut back on bullying on school buses?
I think school should have more adluts on the buses to watch kids
3. Why do you think they aren't doing these things already?
I think school don't how harmful bully is, maybe they think kids are small they will forget it.
Good point, Shiqi, kids can learn bullying from anywhere, even from TV or adults.
